Christell Valdes is a recent graduate of Texas Tech University. During her time there,  Christell worked at the Undergraduate Writing Center where she earned the opportunity to present at the SCWCA regional conference, sharing effective strategies for supporting English Language Learners (ELLs) in university writing centers. She also participated in the Texas Tech Free Market Institute Political Economy Reading Program, which provided her with the opportunity to connect with influential members from both political and academic spheres. 


Beyond her academic and professional endeavors, Christell enjoys volunteering for causes that resonate with her values, including local food shelters, bilingual community events, and various churches.


As a Luna Fellow in the 89th Texas Legislative session, Christell served in the office of Senator Carol Alvarado.
