Who We Are
The Senate Hispanic Research Council, Inc. (SHRC), located in Austin, Texas, is 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization created in 1993 by the Hispanic members of the Texas Senate along with other key state and civic leaders.
The mission of the SHRC is to provide educational and leadership opportunities to all segments of the Hispanic community by supporting active participation at all levels of government. As representatives of the fastest growing minority in Texas, this tax-exempt Council remains dedicated to encouraging the educational achievement of our youth, thereby ensuring a strong, well-prepared future for our state.
The Senator Gregory Luna Legislative Scholars and Fellows Program serves a primary role in fulfilling the SHRC’s educational mission.
